On the Costa Tropical, the sun shines more days than elsewhere in Europe. Our
winters are short and spring gently slides into summer, which in turn blends casually into autumn - and even at the tail-end of summer, you can still see a hint of sunlight at 10 pm. The micro-climate that we enjoy is unique in Spain; our climate is really sub-tropical because the humidity level is low. The refreshing sea breezes cool our hottest days and nights, while the bordering mountain ranges protect us from the winter cold. Meanwhile, the Mediterranean itself allows our temperatures to be moderate year-round.
Winter temperatures range from approximately 10º - 12ºC (50º-53ºF), averaging about 18ºC (64ºF). Summer
temperatures can reach 25º-30º C (77º-86ºF) for short periods of time (particularly in July and August) – thankfully, our constant sea breezes alleviate the heat that inland towns have to endure – where temperatures can soar to 40º and dip to 0º.
Such a temperate climate has yielded us flowers in bloom for most of the year, exotic fruits and vegetables all year, strawberries in February and the first blush of almond flowers just before Christmas.
