Congratulations! You´re about to head down the aisle with the person of your
dreams.....but what comes next? Careful planning is vital to a successful
wedding event, so to help get you started we´ve prepared a sample timetable to
guide you - now that you´ve decided that the Costa Tropical is where you would
like your ceremony. Just remember that things are done a bit differently here, so
our job is to facilitate things for you and make your event as effortless as possible.
12 months
- Decide on type of ceremony and type of reception
- Review finances and set your budget
- Start shopping for your dress - delivery times can vary greatly
- Select your wedding party
10 months
- Start the necessary paperwork for a Spanish ceremony
- Start the guest list - there will lots of discussion about this!
- Start deciding on your type of floral arrangements, music, food, photography,
wedding invitations, and so on
- Reserve the date with whomever will officiate the ceremony
8 months
- Follow up on the Spanish paperwork
- Finalize the guest list
- Send out "Save the Date" cards so guests can start making their travel arrangements
- Make the final selection of your gown and bridal party outfits.
- Order your and your bridesmaids´gowns.
- The groom needs to decide on his outfit too.
- Set up your bridal registry - in either country
- Start planning your honeymoon
6 months
- Follow up on the Spanish paperwork
- Make sure you have all necessary travel documents (passport, travel
insurance, etc)
- Check on your budget to make sure you´re on track
- Order your wedding rings if this hasn´t been done
- Plan details for the rehearsal and wedding (food, flowers, location, etc.)
- Reserve the ceremony and reception locations
- Reserve blocks of hotel rooms for arriving guests
- Mail out the invitations
- Make your honeymoon reservations - travel, car, hotel or apartments
4 months
- Check on the budget
- Follow up on the Spanish paperwork
- Have your first dress fitting
- Follow up on the groom´s and bridal party outfits
2 months
- Follow up on the Spanish paperwork - this should be almost completed
- Have another dress fitting
- Pick up the wedding rings
- Shop for the honeymoon!
- Finalize all details for the ceremony and reception (photographer, food, flowers)
- Confirm the guest llist
1 month
- Re-check the budget
- Have the final dress fitting or pick it up if ready.
Break in your wedding shoes - unless you´re going to be in flip flops!
- Print the wedding program - for the day or the weekend - that includes activities
- Prepare the newspaper announcement
- Write your wedding readings if this is your intention
- Purchase wedding favors and bridal party gifts
- Update your wedding registry
2 weeks
- Pick up all necessary documents for the ceremony
- Confirm your honeymoon reservations
- Pick up travel tickets, groom and bridal party outfits
- Pack your bags! (Your dress might be one piece of luggage!)
- Review credit and debit cards - prepare money for your trip
1 week
- Arrive on the Costa Tropical
- Final meeting with florist, caterer, photographer, ceremony official
- Final guest count for florist and caterer
- Final check on guest accommodations and transport
- Final check on honeymoon accomodations
- Arrange seating plan for rehearsal dinner and reception if necessary
- Try to RELAX!
The Day Before
- Spend it with your family, bridal party and guests!
- Have the rehearsal followed by a meal
- HAVE FUN!
THE WEDDING DAY
- Have a proper breakfast
- Inhale! Exhale! Inhale! Exhale!
- RELAX and ENJOY! Everything will be fine!
