Assuming that your family, bridal party and some guests will be arriving a few days
ahead of the ceremony and will possibly continue their holiday after your wedding, we
offer you some possible activities that can be organized during the course of a weekend
(we are assuming the seasons Spring through Autumn since these are our best weather months).
There is so much to do and depending on peoples´ desires, making some arrangements may need
to be done ahead of time.
Friday:
- Have a relative or friend host a "Welcome to our Wedding" party Friday evening and
include a lively flamenco performance
- Chances are you´ll be having your rehearsal today, so extend the Rehearsal Dinner
to your non-bridal party guests by including them in a round of tapas
Saturday
- Have a relative or friend host a picnic or luncheon at one of the many chiringuitos
followed by a long seaside stroll, hillside walk, round of golf or tennis, or
Mediterranean swim
- If a formal evening wedding is your choice, it could start at about 6:00 pm,
followed by a reception that undoubtedly will last into the wee hours
Sunday
- The bride and groom can greet the day with an intimate breakfast for two; later
family and friends could meet for lunch at any number of popular spots.
- The rest of the day can be spent leisurely, as most Spanish do - including a
typical siesta!
Monday
- Amid goodbyes and breakfast, the bride and groom can set out on their honeymoon
while family and friends may decide to stay on, take nearby excursions or return home.
In any case, it would have been a total weekend experience to remember.
This is only one of many examples of a weekend wedding event...more time available would
mean including flea markets, tours to the quaint outlying villages, scuba diving,
hang gliding, parasailing and lots more. With over 300 days of sunshine, we have
lots of opportunities to live outdoors...and most people do!
